As a college student, I was torn between becoming a chemist or a physician, As a hematologist-oncologist, I get to do both, since the field deals so much with both normal and abnormal biochemistry of the body. Our new understanding of the detailed chemistry and molecular biology of disease allows us to develop and apply new and gratifying treatments for many patients with previously untreatable disorders. Whether a cure is in the near or distant future, I focus on my ability to improve the quality of life for you with a compassionate, comprehensive approach. I pride myself on maintaining a close relationship with each of my patients in order to get to know you as a person. This creates an open line of communication to develop individualized goals and treatments. Building this personal relationship with you is among the many goals for which I strive.
